American Councils Announces USG Alumni Summit

American Councils for International Education in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Armenia hosted the USG Alumni Network: Entrepreneurship & Innovation Conference. The conference brought alumni of U.S. government exchange programs together around the theme of innovation and entrepreneurship.  The event offered a substantive opportunity for these alumni to engage with one another and network, while simultaneously building awareness and excitement for the newly launched Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Networking program.

During the summit participants:

  • Improved networking skills and raised professional profiles through the new U.S. Exchange Alumni app;
  • Worked in teams to design and pitch solutions to issues affecting communities in Armenia and around the world;
  • Learned how they can be involved in alumni mentoring, professional development seminars, and other upcoming alumni activities.

Alumni of USG-sponsored exchange programs have gained and increased their skills in essential areas as a result of their U.S. student or professional experience. Their unique perspectives are highly useful to the Armenian businesses and educational institutions.

The mission of American Councils is to strengthen international ties and mutual understanding through excellence in academic, professional and cultural exchange, language acquisition, education development, and research to empower individuals and institutions to address challenges in a diverse and interconnected world. The American Councils for international education: ACTR/ACCELS office in Armenia was established in 1996.  Since then American councils has implemented more than a dozen programs in Armenia funded by the U.S. Government and other donor organizations.
