Fourteen Armenian policewomen actively participated in the international “Women in Policing” training conference organized by the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), the Georgian Ministry of Interior, and the International Office of Migration in Tbilisi, March 4 through 6. Their travel to the Georgian capital was organized and financed by the INL program at the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan.
The annual training conference aims to develop the qualifications of female police officers, and highlights the important contributions their skills bring to this traditionally male-dominated field.
In addition to the Armenian delegation, policewomen from Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan participated in the three days of training and related events.
