ePublishingThe “Sliding Pages: The Culture of ePublishing in Armenia” program was implemented by the Armenian eBooks Initiative. The program was funded by the U.S. Alumni Association of Armenia through its Alumni Outreach Grant Program. The goal of this project is to explain and promote the process of digitalization of books and electronic publishing to broader audiences.

A series of workshops were organized in the American Corners in Yerevan, Charentsavan, Vanadzor, Gyumri, and Kapan, and more than 150 people participated in total.

Participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the peculiarities of creating and distributed e-books, and to hone their abilities to use e-readers, e-book stores, and databases.

As a result of the program, with the help of the Armenian eBooks Initiative, teams of participants prepared an electronic version of ‘Selected Novels” by Edgar Allan Poe. The e-book will be available to the public free of charge via Apple iBookstore and Google Play stores, on armenianebooks.com web site, and on the U.S. Embassy web page (ZIP 3.6 MB).
