Yerevan, Armenia — The U.S. Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) office sponsored an advanced narcotics investigation course led by officers from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Yerevan on February 5-9, 2018. Representatives from four Armenian law enforcement agencies participated in this five-day course, which included case studies and tabletop exercises on a variety of drug investigation techniques and best practices. The trainers emphasized the importance of supervision and management of proactive investigations of transnational drug organizations.
This training supports Armenia’s efforts to modernize its law enforcement and to counter transnational crime and drug trafficking. It also supports INL’s global goal of keeping Americans safe at home by disrupting international crime, gangs, and the flow of illegal drugs around the globe.
