Location: Yerevan and throughout Armenia
Demonstrations are ongoing in Yerevan and other locations in Armenia today, May 3, and are expected to continue tonight and throughout the week. Local media outlets are reporting sporadic road closures in Yerevan and on roads and highways leading to and from the capital.
Civil disruption in the form of spontaneous road closures, and police checkpoints, with the ability to effect normal commuting and transit times are likely to continue. These demonstrations are unpredictable, and participants could change direction at any moment, creating new traffic and movement blockages. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly become violent.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid the area.
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Keep a low profile.
- Avoid demonstrations.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Review your personal security plans.
