Message for U.S. Citizens: No DS-82 drop off services on October 29, November 26, and December 31

On October 29, November 26, and December 31, the American Citizen Services section will NOT be offering passport renewal services.  Please plan accordingly for your adult passport renewal.

As a reminder, U.S. citizens applying for a passport renewal via a DS-82 form are not required to make an appointment.  Instead, they should visit the U.S. Embassy American Citizen Services section Friday mornings between 9 am – 12 pm (excluding holidays or administrative days).

Applicants must bring a completed, correct DS-82 form which is completed, signed, and dated the day of drop off. Applicants also must bring their current passport, recent passport photos, and cash payment (dollars or drams).  DS-82 Walk In Hours will be offered every Friday, excluding holidays and administrative days, between 9 am – 12 pm. You can find the DS-82 form and more information on filling it out here.

To be eligible for this service, you must meet these criteria:

  • Your current passport was issued when you were age 16 and older;
  • Your current passport was issued in the last 15 years;
  • Your current passport must be in your possession (not lost or stolen);
  • Your current passport must be undamaged (other than normal wear and tear);
  • Your current passport was issued in your name or you can provide documents to support a name change.

If you DO NOT meet the above criteria, please make an appointment online. Please note that families with minors renewing passports with DS-11 forms MUST make appointments online through the scheduling system here.  This application requires both parents and the minor child to be present at the interview.
