Event: Security situation at shopping centers.
There are media reports that Armenian authorities have received threats that explosive devices have been placed at shopping malls in Yerevan, including but not limited to Rossia Mall, Tashir Street Shopping Center, Mega Mall, and Metronome Shopping Center. Police are currently investigating the situation. According to reports, people are being evacuated from these locations. There are no reports at present that any explosive devices have been found.
The U.S. Embassy will continue to monitor the security situation and provide additional information as needed.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid shopping malls until local authorities indicate there is no longer a threat.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Monitor local media for updates.
